BBOT Attends Mapleland Enterprises’ Grand Opening in Guangzhou

This week, Paul Holden, President & CEO of the Burnaby Board of Trade, attended the Grand Opening of BBOT member Mapleland Enterprise’s office in Guangzhou, China. Mapleland is a Burnaby-based international produce company bringing natural, clean and healthy Canadian produce to the world. They have their own private farms in Saskatchewan and apart from their specialization in production, processing, packaging and trade, Mapleland also focuses on the integration of local resources.

The Burnaby Board of Trade continues to seek out ways to build bridges and opportunities for trade and commerce between Burnaby and China. This focus is carried out through trips such as the above, welcoming and hosting delegations from China to Burnaby, and through giving presentations in our sister cities and others in China. The Burnaby Board of Trade’s commitment to this important region and topic is also carried out through the actions of the Pacific Gateway Committee. The Pacific Gateway Committee facilitates connections between the Burnaby business community and industries in the Asia/Pacific region, and pursues opportunities to create a more ethnically integrated business community through holding timely and informative events as well as through advocacy efforts. The Committee further identifies priority issues relating to trade, investment, education, and cultural exchanges between the Burnaby Board of Trade, the business community and the Asia Pacific region.
