Members Needed for Two BBOT Task Forces – Help Shape BBOT Policy & Advocacy

The Burnaby Board of Trade is seeking members to join two new task forces which will meet over the coming weeks to develop recommendations and policies surrounding transportation and traffic, as well as sustainability and the economy.   BBOT Task Forces are temporary, focused working groups that are struck to help the organization to review issues, and provide comment and recommendations to all levels of government.

BBOT Burnaby Transportation Task Force

  • The role of this task force will be to assist the Burnaby Board of Trade in providing feedback to the City of Burnaby on its new Transportation Plan.  The City of Burnaby is in Phase 2 of its Transportation Plan development, and this task force will meet 3-4 times over the next several weeks to provide feedback on the City’s draft plan.  Read more about Burnaby’s Transportation Plan.

BBOT Emerging Economy Review Task Force  

  • This task force will review the recommendations of the provincial government’s Emerging Economy Task Force, identify those relevant to the Burnaby business community and make recommendations on activities the BBOT should undertake, policies the BBOT should endorse, and explore other options for collaboration on this topic.   This task force will meet 3-4 times over the next 2 months to conduct this work.   Read the final report of the province’s Emerging Economy Task Force
