G&F FINANCIAL GROUP – OFFICE MOVE G&F invests in its future at the G&F Hub, Burnaby

G&F Financial Group is proud to announce the successful completion of the G&F Hub—four floors of a commercial office tower within the Kings Crossing by Cressey development and the largest investment in our future that we have made to date.

Due to G&F’s growing business and continued success year over year, we have outgrown our building at 7375 Kingsway, Burnaby which houses partner departments, the Executive Team, as well as the South Burnaby Branch. On July 6, we relocated employees and management into the G&F Hub at 7300 Edmonds Street; a flexible workplace designed to encourage connections across our business lines. Later this summer, we will move the branch into the first floor and re-name it the Edmonds Branch in homage to the Edmonds community. The G&F Hub will provide a larger, purpose-designed space to meet the growing needs of our members, our employees and the community.

Considerable time and effort went into this project over the last several years. In 2018, G&F enlisted Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis (CBRE) to provide a workplace strategy. Following that, G&F hired ZGF to design a dynamic and flexible workplace with new technology and infrastructure to support mobility and interconnectedness throughout the office. Fusion Projects was enlisted to support project delivery. G&F spent several years undergoing a holistic internal transformation of business operations and infrastructure, while continuing to deliver a high standard of service to members. The period of transformation has involved cross- department input and collaboration as well as dedicated working groups to prepare for shifts in the way work gets done, and for transitioning from a traditional, boxed-in office layout to an open concept workplace.

The G&F Hub was designed to support future growth and agility, and provide a functional and inspiring place to work. There is ample space for collaboration, including a bookable community meeting room on the first floor, shared workspace for visitors and a mezzanine level, which the credit union has reserved for partnerships with Fintechs or similar ventures.

G&F credits its Board of Directors for its foresight nearly five years ago when the Board set out a strategy to accommodate our growth, resulting in the G&F Hub.

“G&F has strong ties to Burnaby, with four branches and our corporate office in this city. We’re proud that this expansion into Kings Crossing will give us the chance to deepen our commitment to Burnaby by giving us the space we need to grow and thrive for many years to come,” says Lewis Bublé, President and Chair of G&F Financial Group’s Board of Directors.

COVID-19 Considerations

G&F’s Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (OH&S) inspected the new workplace and branch and made recommendations per WorkSafeBC’s COVID-19 safety guidelines. Notably, in designing the G&F Hub, G&F and partners calculated a higher than standard amount of space per person, and made thorough considerations around work station size and allotted space between employees. Employees complete training on safety protocols per WorkSafeBC guidelines and are supported by G&F’s generous Care Day program. It is through the hard work and focus of all—our OH&S, management and employees—that we have made the G&F Hub a safe environment to work in.
