Join Burnaby Rotary for ” Are Genetically Modified Organisms a Public Health Risk?”  An Overview of the Biological, Dietary and Economic Implications of GMOs”.

Come and hear the ways throughout history that humans have attempted to modify the traits of organisms through selective breeding and advances in biotechnology.  Learn what it means to be a genetically modified organism and the different mechanisms currently available to perform such modifications.  What are the risks and benefits GMOs pose to society at large.

Speaker: Nolan Shelley, Post Graduate Student at UBC, completing Masters Degree, and working toward his Doctoral Degree, undertaking medical research at University.
