Building Smart: The Evolution of Mechanical Solutions for Net Zero Envelopes
BC Housing in collaboration with British Columbia Building Envelope Council is offering a half-day workshop on May 24, 2023, at The Italian Cultural Centre, Vancouver entitled Building Smart: The Evolution of Mechanical Solutions for Net Zero Envelopes. The workshop will focus on mechanical and building envelope solutions for new and existing Part 3 buildings. The event will also include a Trade Show.

This half-day workshop will focus on mechanical and building envelope solutions for new and existing Part 3 buildings. Join a panel of industry experts who will share design considerations, costing and lessons learned from recent research studies and projects. We will explore the role of high-performance enclosures and other demand reduction strategies to manage grid load, including:
- Electricity demand and building capacity assessments
- Heating and cooling systems and the integration of the building envelope
- Design of mechanical systems to provide occupant comfort and reduce overheating
