Burnaby Mountain Gondola: Translink Survey — Share Your Thoughts on This Important New Infrastructure Investment

Translink is currently holding public consultations on the proposed Burnaby Mountain Gondola project from September 1-30.  The Burnaby Board of Trade strongly supports this project, and encourages its members to participate in the survey/consultations and help share our call for this mode of green, fast, safe transportation!

The proposed gondola would connect SkyTrain to the top of the mountain at SFU. A gondola would provide fast, frequent and reliable service, improving connectivity for students, employees and residents who travel between Burnaby Mountain and other parts of Metro Vancouver.

There are three proposed routes the gondola could take. Two options would see the gondola connect to SkyTrain at Production Way–University Station and one would connect at the Lake City Way Station. Those routes are being assessed in terms of travel times, costs, environmental impacts, as well as neighbourhood interests, such as noise, safety and privacy.
