BtEG Program: Workforce Concierge

Traditional sources of labour and the usual recruitment channels will not be enough to fill our ongoing worker shortage.  But where can businesses find additional candidates?

There already exist a number of programs and initiatives to connect employers to pools of diverse candidates from newcomers to students to persons with disabilities, but businesses are often unable to find and navigate these programs. Instead of searching through countless websites yourself, get back to your business and let the Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) be your concierge to these programs!

With the Bridging the Employment Gap (BtEG) program’s Workforce Concierge, members can make one contact to the BBOT and be connected with a number of platforms and programs which each have available candidates and jobseekers.   The Workforce Concierge will collect information from your type of business, the vacancies you have, and the workforce programs you may already be aware of utilizing.

From there, it can get your job posting in front of a new pool of candidates you may have been missing, either by connecting you with the service provider who can walk you through the process, or by directly submitting material on your behalf—either way saving you time, and ensuring you are considering all of the potential workforce sources available.
