Release of Industry Food Donation Guidelines

BC Centre for Disease Control—with MetroVancouver, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, and Food Banks BC—is pleased to announce the re-release of the Industry Food Donation Guidelines. These were originally posted on the BCCDC website in July 2015. They have now been released in a more user-friendly, designed format.

The new version of the guidelines is available in full or in 3 parts:

  1. Executive Summary and Rationale
  2. Starting and Managing a Food Donation Program – in 3 Steps
  3. Industry-Specific Information (for Processors, Caterers/Restaurants, and Retailers)

The guidelines, along with supporting materials (food scraps recycling options, templates and forms, and Guidelines for Food Distribution Organizations) are posted on the BCCDC website at (click on the “Donation guidelines” tab).
