Recap: Women’s Business Success Network Summer Reception

On Tuesday, July 26th, members of the Burnaby Board of Trade’s new Women’s Business Success Network (WBSN) convened on the lush lawn of the Hart House Restaurant for the WBSN Summer Reception.

Dozens of business women (and a few men too!) enjoyed premium wine and hand-crafted appetizers while connecting with fellow members of the WBSN and enjoying the sunny view of Deer Lake.

BBOT President & CEO Paul Holden welcomed the attendees with an overview of the WBSN program before introducing Joanne Curry, BBOT Board Director and Chair of the WBSN Managing Committee who explained the goals and objectives of the WBSN initiative.  Joanne encouraged everyone to get involved in the group by attending events, providing feedback and suggestions, or joining one of the WBSN committees or working groups, noting that the program was designed to allow members themselves to steer and lead it.

This first event of the WBSN provided a great opportunity for the members, who hail from all kinds of businesses and sectors, to meet one another and discover some of the many great women doing business in Burnaby.  The next WBSN event, a Women’s Leadership Panel, is scheduled for September 13th .

A big thanks goes to Sonja Muller and the team at The Hart House Restaurant for hosting this event.  Visit them online or in-person to find out why they are one of the region’s top dining destinations and a great place for business lunches, events, weddings and fine meals.

The WBSN is the Burnaby Board of Trade’s new business network for both women and men interested in supporting women’s success at all levels of business.  The WBSN will foster important discussions, facilitate meaningful connections, and advance advocacy positions in the support of women in business.

There is no fee or charge to join the WBSN and we welcome applicants from all business sectors and sizes. Click here to apply to join the WBSN!
