New Federal Export Grant Program Announced

CanExport

This week, International Trade Minister Chrystia Freeland announced a new program to increase the competitiveness of Canadian companies. CanExport will provide up to $50 million over five years in direct financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Canada seeking to develop new export opportunities.

The CanExport program provides financial support for a wide range of export marketing activities including travel to target markets, participating in trade fairs and trade missions, adapting/translating marketing tools for a new market, market research, and much more.

CanExport grants will range from $10,000 to $99,999 and will be based on a 50/50 cost-sharing arrangement with the applicant business—that means that if approved, CanExport will cover half of the costs of your export development activities!
