Emergency Fuel Limits Ending December 14 as Trans Mountain Pipeline Restarts

The Province is allowing the order limiting non-essential fuel use to expire at midnight December 14.  This temporary measure had been in place due to the precautionary shutdown of the Trans Mountain pipeline in advance of flooding and landslides in mid-November, and the order limited non-essential vehicles to 30 litres of fuel (gas and diesel) per trip to the gas station.

As of December 5, BBOT member Trans Mountain safely restarted its pipeline, which provides critical fuel supplies to the region.  This resumption of supply, coupled with shipments of fuel by truck and barge, has resolved the fuel supply shortages facing southern BC.
