As a non-profit, charitable organization, Pacific Post Partum Support Society provides a variety of free or low-cost programs for mothers experiencing a difficult pregnancy or postpartum adjustment, including postpartum depression and anxiety (PPD/A). They offer a range of services, depending on individual’s needs. In the year 2015-16 their staff made and received a total of 9,278 calls and emails, including 3,500 support calls for new and expecting mothers, and many informational calls and emails to their families and community and service care providers. They also have trained telephone support volunteers who speak other languages to support mothers in their first language if requested: Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish (regular staff also offer Punjabi and Farsi).
Their programs are funded by government contracts, community and foundation grants, and individual donors. In light of limited government/grant funding and an ever-increasing demand for their services, they need your support now more than ever.
