Connect with arts and culture during Burnaby’s Culture Days

With plenty of activities on the schedule, Culture Days is the perfect chance for the public to peek behind the curtain at Burnaby’s world-class arts facilities.

From Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29, free arts and culture demonstrations, exhibitions and activities will be hosted at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and the Burnaby Art Gallery in Deer Lake Park.

Aspiring artists are invited to try their hand at printmaking, or learn from the experts on a Curator’s Tour of the fall exhibit at the Burnaby Art Gallery: Saints, Sinners and Souvenirs: Italian Masterworks on Paper.

Or take in the beauty of the Century Gardens while artist-in-residence Susan Falk creates works of art during En Plein Air. Spectacular pieces created by Shadbolt’s own ceramic arts instructors will also be on display throughout the Shadbolt atrium. Visitors will even be able to go behind the scenes to see guest ceramic artist Tara Wilson stoking the wood-fired “train” kiln.

Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture which allows locals to interact directly with the community’s artists by asking questions and seeing their creative process firsthand.
