City Council green lights permanent inter-municipal business licence program

An experiment to offer local businesses inter-municipal business licences, first proposed by the Burnaby Board of Trade, is about to become a permanent fixture according to the City of Burnaby. The two year old pilot project allows eligible businesses to work throughout Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, Delta, Richmond and Vancouver for a single fee, rather than obtaining additional non-resident licences for each municipality in which they operate. The pilot agreement was set to run out at the end of this year, but positive feedback from businesses and steady growth has convinced Burnaby City council to give the green light to continue.
