Burnaby Mayor proclaims Feb15-19 Chamber of Commerce Week

With last week’s announcement by the provincial government of Chamber of Commerce Week, the City of Burnaby has embraced the celebration locally.

“I am so pleased to proclaim February 15 to 19 Chamber of Commerce Week in the City of Burnaby, following our Burnaby Board of Trade’s recent rejoining of the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce,” says Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan.  “This week gives us an opportunity to recognize and reflect on the commitment made by our local Board of Trade to improving Burnaby’s business environment – not only for members but of all Burnaby businesses. We have an exceptional Board of Trade in our city. I encourage all local businesses to become involved with the Board to enjoy the many opportunities it provides for businesses to collaborate, advocate and thrive in Burnaby and beyond.”

This year’s theme province-wide is Empowering B.C. Businesses. It celebrates the leadership role that chambers and boards of trade play in their local communities where they build links as business advocates and encourage policies that support business and economic development.
