Burnaby Board of Trade connects businesses with opportunities in Hong Kong

As part of its High Tea event series, the Burnaby Board of Trade held a special dim sum event on September 24th with guests from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office and the Hong Kong Canada Business Association.

Representatives from the Hong Kong agencies presented on the opportunities that exist for Burnaby businesses in Hong Kong, whether for import/export businesses or for firms looking to use Hong Kong as a base to expand their business into mainland China.

Hong Kong represents a strategic market for companies looking to expand into China or the Asia Pacific as is often ranked as one of the best places to do business and one of the freest economic in the world. Interestingly, Hong Kong and Burnaby share very similar industry sectors including film, clean tech, health/bio-tech and education creating natural areas of alignment.

This event was part of the Burnaby Board of Trade’s long-standing efforts to foster relationships and build contacts in various cities and countries around the world, with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific.  Members can learn more about the BBOT’s international relationships by visiting our special International Business Resources webpage.
