BBOT Wraps up ‘Join in June’ Competition with 62 New Members, Thousands for Charity
The Burnaby Board of Trade’s ‘Join in June’ Membership Competition came to a close yesterday, June 28th, with the announcement of the results of the month-long drive to welcome new members to the business association. Over the course of the campaign, 62 new members were welcomed to the Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) and as a result $9300 will be donated to four local Burnaby non-profit organizations.
The winning team was Team Blue, captained by Lara Graham of the Burnaby Now, and partnered with Burnaby Community Services. Team Blue also took home the Top Team Member title thanks to Lillian Loh of Westminster Savings. The BBOT thanks and congratulates everyone on Team Blue, and all of our volunteer teams!
The BBOT’s ‘Join in June’ Membership Competition featured four teams of existing board of trade members in a friendly competition to welcome new members into the 1,100 member strong BBOT business community. The four teams were each paired with a local non-profit organization to which $100 will be donated by the BBOT for each new member that joined during the promotion. In addition, the team which brought in the most new members would secure an additional $50 per new member bonus donation for their partner charity.
“This special promotion is a great opportunity for us to engage our existing members, welcome new businesses to our community with some special perks, and to give back to some great non-profit groups,” says Paul Holden, BBOT President & CEO. “It really is a win-win-win and we’re thrilled to have welcomed so many new members and raised so much for these causes.”
