Schneider Electric receives award of excellence from BSI Canada

Schneider Electric Solar Business, a global leader in solutions for the solar power conversion chain, is proud to announce that they have received the 2014 Award of Excellence for a multi-site management system from BSI Canada.

BSI Canada is a division of the world’s first National Standards Body and is a founding member of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO).

The Solar Business of Schneider Electric has a worldwide multi-site management system involving five sites in four countries (Canada: Burnaby, BC; USA: Livermore, CA and Elkhart, IN; France: Montbonnot, near Grenoble; India: Bangalore). Three of these five sites (Burnaby, Livermore, and Elkhart) are ISO-9001:2008 certified, and Elkhart is additionally certified to ISO-14001:2004, as well as OHSAS18001:2007. For this award, nominees were evaluated based on criteria that included audit performances, quality management systems, and business results.

Schneider Electric’s management system ensures that processes and procedures are efficient, effective, well documented, and followed by employees. In addition, continuous improvement activities are performed to improve processes and procedures to drive business success. The business has gone through immense transformation in the last four years. Schneider Electric’s multi-site management system was found to be robust and continually improving in all areas, with employees consistently following defined processes.
