Survey – Share Your Thoughts on the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) and New 8 Week Expansion

COVID-19 Updates & Resources

June 16 – Today, Prime Minister Trudeau announced the federal government’s intention to extend the CERB program by an additional 8 weeks, or two additional payment periods.  This would bring the total eligibility duration of the program to 24 weeks, or 6 months of benefits.  The CERB program provides payments of $2,000 to individuals who are out of work because of COVID-19.

The Burnaby Board of Trade has heard from individuals who have relied on the CERB to get through the COVID-19 crisis.  We are increasingly hearing, however, from businesses who are having difficulty in bringing staff back to work who are opting to remain on the CERB program.

We value your input on the future of CERB — take this 5 minute survey to share your thoughts on the CERB program!
