BBOT Makes Submission to Parliamentary Committee on Encouraging More Women on Corporate Boards

The Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) works to make business better by developing thoughtful policies and recommendations on a variety of business topics.

Today, the BBOT made an official submission to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Status of Women which shares the policy developed by our Women’s Business Success Network on how to encourage more women to sit on corporate boards.

While the business case is clear that greater board diversity is good for the bottom line, many businesses struggle to include women on their boards. Our policy makes the case that board diversity will drive higher returns and better results, and makes recommendations for very targeted regulatory changes which will help facilitate greater gender diversity in Canada’s boardrooms.
