Centre for Business and Workforce Development
As the signature initiative of the Burnaby Board of Trade, the Centre for Business and Workforce Development was created in collaboration with business, government, community, and labour representatives. It serves as a hub for programming and initiatives to strengthen business resilience in Burnaby.
The Centre focuses on two key areas: Workforce Development and Workforce Readiness. It provides programming, resources, communications, and more, including:
Business Workforce Development Programming
- Connecting businesses with local talent from post-secondary institutions, including support for work-integrated learning opportunities.
- Brings together stakeholders to collaboratively tackle workforce issues. Through programs, partnerships, and centralized resources, it builds awareness, engagement, and pathways between industries and job-seekers to achieve shared outcomes.
Business Resilience Webinar Series
- A series of events focused on upskilling the Burnaby business community in best practices for human resources, digital technology, business law, accounting, marketing and more.
