Request for Proposal: Facilitation and Consultation Services for the Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) 2025 Strategic Plan

The Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) is Burnaby’s premier business organization. It serves as a catalyst for economic growth, a champion for sustainable business practices, and an advocate for its members. With a diverse membership base spanning various industries, BBOT is committed to fostering a thriving business environment in Burnaby by providing advocacy, networking opportunities, and programs that empower local businesses.
As we look to the future, BBOT seeks to build on its successes and set a strategic direction that ensures relevance, growth, and impact. To achieve this, we seek a qualified and experienced facilitator to guide the development of our Strategic Plan for 2025 and beyond.
Scope of Work
The successful consultant will be responsible for leading the strategic planning process that results in the following outcomes and deliverables:
Conduct a thorough analysis to identify BBOT’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Engage with staff, key partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders to gather valuable insights on current operations and future aspirations.
Organize and facilitate an interactive workshop with BBOT’s board members to consolidate leadership perspectives and insights.
Design a member survey to be distributed by BBOT and integrate the feedback into the strategic planning process.
Examine successful models of chambers of commerce, business organizations, and nonprofits within Burnaby and beyond.
Identify opportunities and propose strategies to enhance BBOT’s capacity and long-term growth.
Refine and refresh the BBOT’s mission, vision, and value statements as needed to align with the organization’s goals.
Provide a comprehensive 3-5-year strategic plan that includes key findings, strategic priorities, actionable goals, performance metrics, and a phased implementation roadmap. The plan will integrate stakeholder feedback, market insights, and growth strategies, ensuring alignment with BBOT’s mission and adaptability for future needs that integrate insights from all assessments, workshops, surveys, and analyses.
Budget
The budget for this project is up to $12,000, including all consultant fees, travel expenses, and materials.
