BBOT’s ‘Festival of Trees’ Entry Brings Hope, Peace, and Unity to the Community
This holiday season, the Burnaby Board of Trade is honoured to participate in the Festival of Trees, hosted by the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown from November 13th to January 3rd, 2025. This beloved community event brings together local organizations to create uniquely decorated trees in support of worthy causes. This year, the festival has partnered with Backpack Buddies to support Burnaby School District #41, with all proceeds directly benefiting children in need.
BBOT’s tree is decorated with handmade origami cranes, or Tsuru, each a graceful symbol of peace, hope, and resilience. In Japanese culture, these cranes represent more than beauty — they embody peace, healing, and hope and are associated with good fortune, longevity, and happiness. Each delicate crane reflects the values of our community — strength, compassion, and the unyielding hope that defines this season. Our tree captures not only the holiday spirit but also a vision of togetherness and support that goes beyond decorations and borders.
We invite you to join us in sharing this message of unity. By voting for BBOT’s tree, you’re not only casting a vote for a beautifully crafted symbol of hope but also for a community that believes in lifting one another up.
Visit the Festival of Trees at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown lobby or vote online to make the Burnaby Board of Trade’s tree a beacon of peace and connection in Burnaby.
Your vote brings us closer to a shared vision of support, kindness, and connection — qualities we all hope to carry into the new year.
