International Women’s Day

March 8 is International Women’s Day. It’s a global day to recognize and celebrate women’s and girls’ social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It’s also a time to raise awareness of the progress made towards achieving gender equality and the work remaining to be done. Visit the government of Canada website to learn more about inspiring Canadian women and gender equality in Canada.

The Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) fosters important discussions, facilitates meaningful connections, and advances advocacy positions in support of women in business.

Driven by our Diversity, Inclusion and Business Committee, the BBOT includes programming through our Women’s Business Success Network (WBSN). This programming invites those of any gender to engage on women’s leadership, discuss business trends and realities, and build meaningful relationships, including our signature WBSN speaker/ panel events.

Our most recent event, Women in Life Sciences – Panel Discussion was held February 2, 2023. Along with Life Sciences BC, the Burnaby Board of Trade brought an engaging panel discussion with some of Burnaby’s top women professionals as they shared their experiences, stories, and thoughts on leadership in the Life Sciences sector.
