Top Canadian indie band Stars to headline Canada Day in Burnaby

Top-notch Canadian music, family fun and spectacular fireworks come together as one of the region’s marquee Canada Day events returns to Swangard Stadium on Monday, July 1.

This free event will feature performances from two Juno-award nominees, Stars and Nuela Charles. Montreal indie band Stars have been performing for more than 20 years, and feature great melodies, lush orchestrations and powerful storytelling. Nuela Charles is an alternative/soul singer-songwriter known for her captivating stage presence. Her recent singles “Do it Right” and “Danger” together spent 14 weeks on CBC Radio Music’s Top 20. And “Do it Right” was one of 2018’s Top 100 Canadian songs.

This spectacular lineup also includes Vancouver Afro-Funk-Latin-Soul Fusion group, Coco Jafro. Their energetic music has a reputation for fueling the crowd – inspiring them to let go and dance.
