Digital Development Assistance Program

The Digital Development Assistance Program (DDA Program) is an initiative of The Centre for Burnaby Business Recovery & Resilience that provided small businesses, non-profits and solopreneurs with direct, hands-on support to build, optimize, and enhance various digital activities.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses have had to ensure they could communicate and compete in the digital space.  In the post-pandemic marketplace, commerce and customers will continue to move online, and businesses will greatly benefit from expanding and improving website functionality, offering e-commerce options, and engaging customers and communities on social media channels.

Leveraging our world-class post-secondary institutions, the DDA Program delivered digital supports for local businesses using a team of skilled local students, all provided at no cost to the business.  From building e-commerce sites, websites, to conducting social media audits and helping develop campaigns, the program helped bridge an urgent digital gap for small business. The program was a win-win, with 40 local businesses supported and 6 local students hired.
