“Local Business Support Grant” Featured Recipient – YVR Prep

In response to the challenges of COVID-19, the Burnaby Board of Trade launched a grant program to support our members that was unprecedented amongst chambers of commerce and boards of trade.  Funded and administered directly by the BBOT, the Local Business Support Grant sought to help our local members invest in new equipment, education or other resources to support their businesses through this next phase of the pandemic, and position themselves for a stronger recovery.   Read our features on some of the businesses who participated in this program:

Our featured Local Business Support Grant recipient is: YVR Prep

YVR Prep is the region’s premier commissary kitchen — a place where aspiring food entrepreneurs can access the necessary resources needed to build and sustain successful food businesses.  YVR Prep provides food start-ups, micro-producers, caterers and more a health-certified kitchen complete with cutting-edge appliances and tools to allow them create their unique products for their own clients and customers.

With support from the Burnaby Board of Trade’s Local Business Support Grant, YVR Prep was able to purchase an additional standing freezer, providing more space for their members to store product and allowing the business to expand and take on more clients.
