‘Grow Your Business Online’ micro-grant update

Canada Digital Adoption Program

Hoping to sell your products online or improve your digital strategy? Apply for a micro-grant of up to $2,400 through the Canada Digital Adoption Program.

The Grow Your Business Online grant will help up to 90,000 small businesses take advantage of e-commerce opportunities. Eligible businesses will receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to help with the costs related to adopting digital technologies. Grants will be available through local and regional service providers across Canada.

Eligibility Requirements Updated: Previously, the Canada Digital Adoption Program’s Grow Your Business Online grant was only open to companies with one employee (other than the business owner). That requirement has changed.

Solopreneurs are now welcome to apply for the program as long as their business had at least $30,000 in annual revenue in the most recent tax year (2021).

Eligible businesses receive:

  • Direct financial support of up to $2,400
  • E-commerce advisory support from experts
  • Proven digital strategies to help you grow

Approved Grant Expenses:

The grants can be towards the cost of activities including, but not limited to:

  • Implementation or improvement of a digital e-commerce plan (e.g. online reservation/booking tools, online ordering systems, electronic payments).
  • Developing a new e-commerce website.
  • Installation of an e-commerce platform or upgrading existing e-commerce site functionality.
  • Online marketing and advertising: SEO optimization; Social media advertising; Hiring digital marketing services.
  • E-commerce software and hardware.

Grant Eligibility:

Applications can only be submitted by a small business that meets all of the following criteria:

  • Is a for-profit business (including for-profit social enterprises and co-operatives)
  • Is a registered or incorporated business
  • Is a consumer-facing business – selling goods or services direct to consumers
  • Has at least one employee (other than the business owner) or $30,000 in annual revenue in the most recent tax year (2021).

These types of small businesses are ineligible: Corporate chains, franchises or registered charities; Representatives of multi-level marketing companies; Real estate brokerages
