Daiya Foods to open 400,000 Square Food Production Facility in Burnaby
BBOT President and CEO Paul Holden attended the “soft” opening of Daiya’s new 400,000 food production facility in Burnaby. This new location in Burnaby is over 400,000 sq. ft. in size, providing the company with quadruple the production capacity compared to its existing 65,000-sq-ft facility in East Vancouver. According to the company, this is one of the largest food production facilities of its kind in BC.
Daiya Foods’ growth is being propelled by the increased global demand for plant-based foods. There will also be a food innovation centre within the new facility.
When operational in the latter half of 2020, it will employ 300 people, with potential growth for an additional 100 positions over the coming years.
