Burnaby Mountain Gondola: Final Public Engagement Opportunity

Burnaby Mountain Gondola

On November 23, TransLink kicked off its second round of public engagement for the Burnaby Mountain Gondola project. This second round of engagement will focus on the evaluation of the three proposed routes based on the project benefits, costs, and implementation considerations. At this stage, TransLink is asking the public what their level of support is for each of three routes.

As mentioned back in September when they conducted their first round of engagement (check out the Phase One Engagement Summary Report for details), the proposed gondola would connect SkyTrain to the top of Burnaby Mountain at SFU. A gondola would provide fast, frequent and reliable service, improving connectivity for students, employees and residents who travel between Burnaby Mountain and other parts of Metro Vancouver. The public engagement period will run between November 23 and December 14, 2020.

To have an opportunity to weigh in on what could be a significant improvement to rapid transit right in our community, here are a couple of ways to get involved:

If you have any questions or comments, you can reach out to TransLink by phone or email.

This is the final public engagement opportunity to help TransLink identify a preferred route for the gondola, so have your say!
