The Burnaby Board of Trade held a meeting with Minister Mary Ng, federal minister of Small Business and Export Promotion on August 24 and 40 local businesses to hear from the Minister on the initiatives of the federal government to support small businesses and encourage more women entrepreneurs.

The open discussion, moderated by BBOT President & CEO Paul Holden, and including local Member of Parliament Terry Beech, featured questions from BBOT members, delved into issues of government funding opportunities, tax implications for small businesses, the costs of doing business, international trade tensions, and more.

As the convener of business, government and community, the Burnaby Board of Trade regularly makes opportunities like this available for members to hear from decision makers and thought leaders, and make sure their concerns and issues are heard and addressed.
