BBOT Applauds Move to Permanent Wholesale Liquor Pricing

February 23 – The Burnaby Board of Trade applauds the move announced today by the province to allow restaurants, bars, and pubs to permanently purchase liquor at wholesale prices.  These changes permanently allow restaurants, bars and pubs to pay the wholesale price for the products they purchase, which is the same cost paid by government and private liquor stores in the province when they purchase stock for retail sale. Previously, they had to pay full retail price for product sold in their establishments.

“This announcement will reduce expenses for one of the hardest-hit sectors in this pandemic, and it is a good example of government reducing obstacles and irritants for businesses. We thank Minister Mike Farnworth and the provincial government for making this move,” says Paul Holden, President & CEO of the Burnaby Board of Trade.
